Issue/Introduction

After discovering SPM tests using Read/Write in Spectrum, the existing test on the device is deleted.

Environment

CA Spectrum 10.2.3

Cause

If the user edits and saves a scheduled test in the Read/Write mode on Spectrum, the existing test is deleted on the device and recreated in the next scheduled interval.

This is an expected device behavior in Spectrum, as the scheduled test cannot be edited on the device

Resolution

There are two options available:

1. Discover the test in Read Only mode

2. The Spectrum_10.02.03.D462 patch for Spectrum 10.2.3 contains functionality to tell Spectrum not to delete the test on the device when discovered using R/W mode. This patch requires the Spectrum 10.2.3_BMP_10.2.301 patch be installed first.

After installing the Spectrum_10.02.03.D462 and before discovering tests using R/W mode, add the following parameter to the $SPECROOT/SS/.vnmrc file and restart the SpectroSERVER process for the parameter to take affect:

skip_ipsla_deletion=TRUE

This functionality is also available in Spectrum 10.3.1 and higher.
