Issue/Introduction

Alarm Host Name show an IP address or incorrect Host Name

**Validated that nslookup returns the correct hostname/fqdn on the server with the nas probe

nas.log captures the following entries where expected name is changed to another Host Name or IP

nas: nsLookup ip:host1.test.com => 'host2.test.com'
nas: nsLookup ip:host1.test.com => 'xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx'

Environment

NAS version 8.56+

Cause

NAS Name Services translate a hostname to an IP address or another hostname

Resolution

NAS Name Services can be configured to no longer translate a hostname to an IP address or another hostname - it will only translate IP addresses to names.

To activate this add the following key/value to the "setup" section of nas.cfg:  skip_non_ip_ns_lookup=yes followed by a nas probe restart
