we have a Robot that is not visible in the admin or IM console

Issue/Introduction

we had an issue with a robot not starting on a server, so we removed and reinstalled the nimsoft service.
Now the robot starts ok but does not appear in the Admin or IM console, so we cant configure or deploy probes.
What can we look at to find out why this robot is not showing as expected?

 

Environment

UIM 9.X earlier
Robot 7.9X and earlier

Resolution

Usually, this is a misconfiguration on the robot.
Things to check
- check the robot.cfg and make sure the Domain and hub names are correct. These are case sensitive.
- check and make sure there is a valid controller.cfg that has at least a controller, spooler and hdb in it.
- check the ports between the robot and the hub and make sure ports 48000-48010 are open in both directions.
