Resolution

The Microsoft Project Integration architecture (x86/x64) should match Microsoft Project architecture, not Microsoft Windows architecture. If MSP is 32 bit, then the x86 integration should be installed, whereas if MSP is 64 bit, x64 integration should be chosen.

Modern workstations typically use 64 bit Windows, but even when running this Windows architecture, Microsoft Project can still be 32 bit. In this example, x86 (32 bit) integration is required to match with Microsoft Project.

Please check Microsoft Project architecture before downloading and installing the integration.

  • In MSP 2010: File > Help, then check the "About Microsoft Project" section
  • In MSP 2013 and MSP 2016: File > Account > About Project
