Issue/Introduction

Devices with Network_Address attribute set to 0.0.0.0 or <empty> do not properly alarm during steady-state but do alarm at startup. This causes ‘ghost’ alarms to appear during FT alarm synchronization. 

Environment

Spectrum 10.2.3 and 10.3.0

Cause

Devices with Network_Address attribute set to 0.0.0.0 or <empty> do not properly alarm during steady-state but do alarm at startup. This causes ‘ghost’ alarms to appear during FT alarm synchronization. 

Resolution

This issue is addressed i Spectrum 10.2.3 with the Spectrum_10.02.03.D422 patch.

This issue has also been address in Spectrum 10.3.1 and higher.

SNMP and ICMP based models have been extended with new intelligence to pre-validate changes to Network_Address attribute, blocking changes to invalidate addresses.
