Beginning with z/OS V1R13, global resource serialization (GRS) provides an additional list of qnames that are conditionally authorized: ARCDSN, ARCBTAPE, ARCGPA, ARCBACV, and ARCMIGV. You can set the new AUTHQLVL parameter in the GRSCNFxx parmlib member to indicate whether the system is to recognize the second list of authorized qnames in addition to the original list. The value is either 1 (default) or 2.
Will running with AUTHQLVL=2 have any impact on MIM?
Environment
Release: Component: MIM
Resolution
The change to AUTHQLVL should have no impact on MIM. The change will not require any MIM parm changes or any MIM maintenance. Because MIM runs as APF authorized, the enqs that it issues itself will not have a problem.
Being that GRS remains active in the system even if MII is being used, GRS will still determine proper authorization of the caller for the first and potentially second list of qnames.
