Issue/Introduction

Where is the CA ITSM xFlow module installed to?

Environment

CA ITSM 17.1 and xFlow on a Windows Server.

Resolution

Default locations:
  • xFlow files are installed by default to the \Program Files\CA\xFlow directory¬†
  • xFlow Windows Registry entries by default are put to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\xFlow Analyst Interface 17.1.0.0¬†
  • xFlow database entries are stored in the CA MDB database

Here is a sample of an installed xFlow files on ITSM 17.1:

C:\Program Files\CA\xFlow\_xFlow Analyst Interface 17.1.0.0_installation>
.com.zerog.registry.xml
Change xFlow Analyst Interface 17.1.0.0 Installation.exe
Change xFlow Analyst Interface 17.1.0.0 Installation.lax
InstallScript.iap_xml
installvariables.properties
Logs
resource
uninstaller.jar

The file ".com.zerog.registry.xml" advises a lot about where the installation will try and put items.

The file "installvariables.properties" contains installation settings. This includes "Product_ID" which contains a value which should appear in the Windows Registry in the location given above. A "Find" can also be run in the Windows Registry against this value.
