During configuration of Web Portal autologin in CA PAM as a TCP/UDP service with autologin methods it is only possible to use the CA PAM browser.
However, it turns out certain portals will not allow learning mode to progress or- even worse- will not display the correct information when the CA PAM browser is used to connect to them. Typically a blank background window may be displayed. Login via native browser or outside PAM works just fine, only that then autologin may not be configured and neither can session recording.
Through investigation it has been discovered that some of these portals use javascript
Is javascript supported in the CA PAM browser ? Can it be enabled ?
Environment
CA PAM all versions up to 3.2.2
Resolution
As of now (september 2018), autologin will be possible only when the login method that is employed by the web portal is HTML-based. So when login is based upon javascript, flash or other similar methods it may not work In these cases if session recording or autologin are required we suggest to use a jump server and configure transparent login to the target portal
