Telon Application Generator
Issue/Introduction
Informational request for Telon compatibility with IBM APAR OA54807.
We need to research if any program product we support needs to have maintenance so it can work when we install the Meltdown/Spectre PTFs in OA54807. This APAR is implementing a new function called OSPROTECT that will control the Meltdown/Spectre CPU vulnerability. The Holddata specifies the changes that are being made and recommends that all ISV be checked for compatibility.

Resolution
Our Telon Sustaining Engineers did a test with the IBM maintenance (APAR OA54807), and can report the following;
Telon is an application program generator. It is used to create both COBOL and Pl/1 programs. The code generated by Telon has been tested with OA54807 applied and OSPROTECT set to 1. There were no problems during this testing.
