Problem with adding a components after creating New universe

Issue/Introduction

After we've created a new universe we are able to add new components to an existing universe , but if add more components to the universe xyz then the previously selected components will be deselected and only newly selected components remain in the universe xyz. How can we keep the existing components and add the new ones to it?

APM 10.7

Resolution

Customer was not selecting the 'add current selection to filter' option so it was overwriting the filter list and not appending to it. The option is displayed once a new filter pattern is entered and components are matched to it
