Issue/Introduction

Graphes for CPU usage are empty and this error message : HH:MM:SS  coll - OVirtualizationEsx_OpenHandle : OpenHandle failed (iRc=2 -> 'VMware Guest API is not running in a Virtual Machine') appears in Collector logs

Environment

Agent for Unix

Cause

The VMware tools are not installed.

Resolution

1 - Stop the Collector
2 - Edit the Collector configuration file
Modify the DisableVMGuestLib value as: 
[PARAM]
DisableVMGuestLib=1


3 - Save the Collector configuration file.
4 - Restart the Collector

#Optional/Mandatory    : Optional
#Deactivation/Activation of the check if the VMware tools are installed on the
machine. If VMware tools are found then the program will try to do timekeeping correction
#Set to "0" in the default configuration file
