Why does my TPX batch job always end with messages 'TPBL1012 REQUIRED PARAMETER LIST MISSING' and/or 'TPBL1011 UNKNOWN COMMAND'?

Resolution
The most common cause of these errors is if the SYSIN has 'numbers' in columns 73-80. These must be removed.
TPXBATCH allows for flexible coding of batch control statements with spaces and across multiple lines as desired. Since TPX batch does not allow recognize that the source SYSIN has NUM ON, this text is interpreted as part of the TPX batch control statement. Since it is not in a recognizable format, the errors are generated.
