JCLCheck Workload Automation

Issue/Introduction

What is the difference in using JCLCheck runtime option of CSI or VSAM?

Environment

Release: 12.0
Component: JCLCheck Workload Automation

Resolution

The runtime option "CSI" replaces the existing "VSAM" option.

The "CSI" option uses a new program to read ICF catalogs providing enhanced functionality as well as improved performance for JCLCheck.

The "VSAM" option is no longer maintained and should be considered obsolete.

After PTFs SO03601 and SO03602, if you use the VSAM option, you will receive the following message:
CAY6570I VSAM OPTION IS OBSOLETE, DEFAULTING TO CSI.

At z/OS 2.2, an erroneous error message, CAY6089E DATASET dsname is NOT a PDS will occur if the VSAM option is used. To prevent this error message, remove the VSAM option and the CSI option will be used as the default.
