Issue/Introduction

Looking for a way to remove a previously loaded LMP key from the system without doing an IPL?

Environment

Release: ANY
Component: CAIRIM

Resolution

In CA Common Services a feature is available which allows an LMP Key to be bypassed.  To do this, you can add the DELETE or REMOVE keyword after the valid LMP Key in the KEYS member and load the keys again with the following command:

S CAS9,,,LMPKEYS

The DELETE and REMOVE Parms are synonymous, and do not actually delete the LMP Key from storage, but cause it to be bypassed.  Details can be found on the CA Common Services documentation within the section titled "Deactivate Product License Keys". Otherwise, the LMP Key can be removed from the Keys member and an IPL done.

Note: This works for only LMP keys that are still valid and not expired
