Issue/Introduction

The client is upgrading to Intertest and Symdump r 11 and the unpax of the base installation file using utility program IKJEFT01  fails with error message checksum error f140.  The JCL used is listed below.

//JS44001  EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01
//SYSTSPRT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSEXEC  DD DSN=SYS1.SBPXEXEC,DISP=SHR
//SYSTSIN  DD *
  OSHELL cd /u/pp72222/;  +
     /bin/pax -rvf /u/pp72222/INTR11.DVD02175735E.pax.Z

https://docops.ca.com/ca-intertest-and-ca-symdump/11-0/en/installing/install-your-product-from-pax-enhanced-esd/create-a-product-directory-from-the-pax-fileWhen the client uploaded the Intertest and Symdump R 11 base install pax file to the uss directory in was not uploaded as BINARY.
The client deleted the original pax file in the USS directory and uploaded it again as binary. Then the pax file could be unpaxed.

Resolution

The client deleted the original pax file in the USS directory and uploaded it again as binary. Then the pax file could be unpaxed.

The client could also consider using the BPXBATCH  utility program documented in the Intertest and Symdump r 11 installation guide. But the pax installation file must still be uploaded BINARY into the USS directory.
