Have you ever wanted to suppress the report heading and the CALR803W message for any reports in a multiple report execution for which no data records were selected?

How to suppress the to suppress the report heading and the CALR803W message for any reports using the EARLOPT Option SUPPRES.

This can be accomplished with a simple change to your EARLOPT module/phase using the EARLOPT option, SUPPRES=YES.

EARLOPT option SUPPRES

YES     Suppress printing the headings for a report when no data records were selected 
        for a report in a multiple report run. Also, suppress the warning message:
        CALR803W NO RECORDS FOR REPORT NUMBER nn

NO      Print the headings and the warning even when no data records were selected 
        for a report in a multiple report run. This is the default.   

To make the change in a z/OS environment:

1. Edit USERMOD UXE6101. Specify SUPPRES=YES.
   (Refer to CA Common Services SAMPJCL member XE61USR1.)
2. Apply USERMOD UXE6101.

To make the change in a VSE environment:

1. Edit source member EARLOPT.A. Specify SUPPRES=YES.
   (Refer to the CA-CIS product library.)
2. Reassemble the modified EARLOPT.A source.

The SUPPRES operand was introduced with APAR QO48219 for z/OS and APAR QO37202 for VSE.
