Resolution

84 - request for output required no specific scratch pool, but the volume mounted was assigned to a specific pool.

This means that the definitions done in the TMOSCR00 and TMONSM00 should be checked, correct them and then re-start TMSINIT.
Running a TMSSTATS with PARM='ALL'  to obtain a display of all parameters and definitions done used during the start of TMSINIT.
The IBM VTS does not support CA-1 scratch sub-pooling.

Additional Information

Additional Tips:

1) Check ALL systems sharing the CA1 TMC.  Jobs may be running on a secondary LPAR for which scratch sub-pooling has NOT been disabled.  Scratch sub-pooling needs to be disabled on ALL systems sharing the TMC.

2) The report produced by TMSSTATS does NOT indicate the system from which the report is run.  When multiple systems are involved, be sure to check the full job output of TMSSTATS for confirmation of what system TMSSTATS was run on.

3) The CA1 ISPF interface can be used to check whether scratch sub-pooling is in use.  The option '3 MAINTENANCE - Maintain CA 1 configuration tables' can be selected, and then option '3 - CA 1 SCRATCH Pool Definitions' and option '4 - CA 1 NSM (Non-Specific Mount) Rules' can be selected to display the active scratch sub-pooling which is in effect (or not).

4) The output of TMSINIT can be used to display scratch sub-pooling which is in effect.
