Error: "You do not have permission to view this page. Please contact your system administrator or log in as a user with permission." When Logging Into JasperServer

Issue/Introduction

After creating and assigning a new role to Jasperserver users, the users cannot log into JasperServer:

Access Denied "You do not have permission to view this page.
Please contact your system administrator or log in as a user with permission." 

Environment

JasperServer 6.2.0 and later

Cause

ROLE_USER has not been assigned to the users.

Resolution

You need to Assign ROLE_USER which is Required to log in for the users. To do this:

1. Log into Jasperserver as superuser
2. Manage > Users > Select a user
3. Click on Edit at the right bottom > Move ROLE_USER to the right (Roles Assigned) > Save.

Now the user is able to log into the application.

ROLE_USER definition:

Required to log in. This role is automatically assigned to every JasperReports Server user. It's a special system-level role visible in every organization.
Never delete this role, it's required to create users and allow them to log in.
