The Nimsoft Robot Watcher service is causing the Windows cluster service to stop a few minutes after it is started up. Need to know the ramifications of disabling the Nimsoft Robot Watcher service.
If the Nimsoft Robot Watcher Service is disabled will the robot generate alarms?
Environment
UIM Server 8,51 and earlier robot (controller probe) 7.93 and earlier
Resolution
If the Nimsoft Robot Watcher service is disabled on a Windows server, then none of the UIM probes will start on that system. The Nimsoft Robot Watcher service is responsible for starting the controller probe which, in turn, starts all of the other installed probes on the Windows system. No alarm or QoS messages will be generated from the Windows system if the probes are not running on it. The robot will also disappear from Infrastructure Manager and Admin Console since the robot is not running on the system.
