Is there a way to identify CA Dispatch archived reports by their dataset name (DSN) outside of CA Dispatch? For example, if you were looking at an archived DASD file? Or, a Tape Map report against a particular VOLSER?
In current releases of CA-Dispatch the ARCHIVE DSN PREFIX that will be used for all reports is specified on the VSGMU215 screen.
The DSN prefix is the first 20 characters that appear in the data set name of the file that stores reports that are archived. It ends with a period. The suffix of the name is generated automatically by the archiving option when it allocates the file.
CA-Dispatch provides 2 parameters that can be coded as part of the VSGMU215 screen's DSN PREFIX, that will cause CA-Dispatch to assign the actual REPORT and/or JOBNAME of the data being archived as part of the archive dataset name.
Two variables are permitted in this definition to allow identification of data and to allow the files to be secured outside of Unicenter CA-Dispatch:
&JOBN - The job name of the report being archived.
&RPTN - The report name of the report being archived. If you allow Unicenter CA-Dispatch to archive MSGCLASS messages using the VIEW ARCH command, the &RPTN is MSGCLASS.
Archive automatically assigns the rest of the data set name in the following format:
