Environment

Release: ONE...00200-14.0-One-TAPE MANAGEMENT
Component:

Resolution

Rel 14.0 APAR RO98235 is recommended for systems that use WORM Tapes.

Virtual Worm Tape:
For FLAG5, both the x'04' and x'08' bit need to be set. In this case only the x'04' bit is on.  Once the bits are set in FLAG5, and the TMSUPDTE is used to change the EXPDT, WMC and WWID field the tape will expire.

Physical Worm Tape:
For FLAG5,  both the x'10' and x'08' bit need to be set. Then after you update FLAG5, and the TMSUPDTE is used to change the EXPDT, WMC and WWID field the tape will expire.

Note:
Make sure the tape is correctly marked as virtual or physical in FLAG5.
