Issue/Introduction
When the customer attempted to recycle CA PTXMAN, the CA Health Checker component (CAHCKCCS) went into a SPIN loop.
Environment
CA DB2 Tools (PTXMAN) which uses the CA Common Services Health Checker component (CAHCKCCS) is active in a z/OS environment with IBM APAR OA49676 applied
Cause
The cause was PTXMAN turning off the TCBFX bit in error which resulted in a spin loop. When the error occurs, there is timer queue verification and queue correction that can orphan timer queue elements resulting in the lost XCF timer.
Resolution
Apply Health Checker PTF RO91550. SPIN LOOP AFTER CANCELING CA PRODUCT W/HCHECK. This can occur in an environment with IBM APAR OA49676 applied.
