Issue/Introduction

A new model type was created using the Spectrum Model Type Editor (MTE). When modeling the new model type in OneClick, the following error is seen and the model is placed in the LostFound:

SPC-OCC-11883: A device model union com.aprisma.spectrum.core.idl.CsCAttribute.CsCalue { java.lang.String textString=""} of type Alpha_Modem has been created but cannot be related to this view.  It has been put in the Lost And Found.

Environment

Any version of Spectrum running on any supported operating system.

Resolution

When creating a new model type, the following must be done before it can be modeled in the Spectrum database:

1. In a Distributed SpectroSERVER (DSS) environment, the model type must be loaded on all SpectroSERVER systems. This can be done in one of two ways:

a. Create a SpectroSERVER database save on the system where the model type was created and load the catalog only on the other systems in the DSS.

Reference the "Landscapes and the Distributed SpectroSERVER" section of the documentation for more information.

b. Export the model type from the catalog and import it into the DSS systems using the dbtool application.

Reference the "dbtool" section of the documentation for more information.

2. Restart tomcat on ALL OneClick and Spectrum Report Manager (SRM) systems in the DSS.
