Issue/Introduction

Users can view a comprehensive history of requests and tasks submitted through the Identity Portal by utilizing the My Requests module. This functionality allows individuals to track their own submissions or, depending on Identity Manager (IDM) scoping policies, view tasks submitted by other users.

During high-priority incidents, users have reported symptoms where no tasks appear in the module; this can be caused by stale session data or empty scoping results in the internal cache following an abrupt session end.

Resolution

To view request history or search for specific tasks within the Identity Portal, follow these steps:

  1. Access the My Requests Module: Open the module within the Identity Portal interface.
  2. Open Advanced Search: Click the drop-down arrow to specify search conditions.
  3. Define Search Scope:
    • Search In = My Requests: Retrieves only tasks submitted by the logged-in user.
    • Search In = All: Retrieves tasks for all users the logged-in user is scoped to see in Identity Manager (IDM).
  4. Filter by Criteria: Specify parameters such as Task Name (e.g., "Create User"), Date Range (e.g., past 30 days), or specific access elements.


To search for all Tasks submitted by the user logged into Portal select "Search In = My Requests".  To search Tasks submitted by other users, select "Search in = All"   (be aware, "All" has limits based on scoping policies in IDM itself)



For example, to see ALL Completed "Create User" tasks from the past 30 days which had an Access element of 'Application1' set:

 

 

 

Additional Information

This should always show the individuals submitted Tasks and will show 'All' tasks that a user is scope to have access to see.   The view should closely match what an individual sees if they open View Submitted Tasks in IDM.   If a user does not have access to VST they most likely will only have access to view Tasks that that specific user has submitted through Portal even when 'All' is selected. 

Tasks that have been cleared from the Task Persistence database, either archived or deleted, will never show in this view.
