What causes PMO to issue Error message PMO641E - DIRECTORY NOT IN ALPHANUMERIC ORDER FOR DSN

What action is required?

Environment

Release:4.4

Resolution

The PMO641E error message is caused by PMO rejecting a library with a corrupted directory that has been included.

This may be a temporary condition within the library. PMO was probably rebuilding the HASH Tables when this occurred. PMO would have taken the library out of management to rebuild the hash tables and then, based on activity, re-included the library for management.

In either event, PMO detected an out of order condition.

When you receive this message, you should exclude the library on all the systems running PMO (using the EXCLPRVT command) and then re-include (using INCLPRVT) the library on all systems.

If this situation occurs again, collect an IEHLIST and a Private report (see PMO Systems Programming Guide Chapter 2) for the library on all systems to insure the TTRs are correct on all LPARS. Also take a dump of the PMO address space.
