Issue/Introduction

You have a Program with multiple tasks. On one of the tasks (projects) it shows 0% complete but when you look at that project all tasks are 100% complete.

Resolution

% Complete for a project (Example Project A) on the Task list associated with a program is pulled from the project's % Complete value at the project level.

Manual % Complete Calculation Method:

  • If the sub project's % Complete Calculation Method is Manual, this value would be updated manually at the project level (the field is usually on the Schedule subpage). So, in order for the project (Project A) to show up as 100% complete on the program's task list, the project % Complete of the sub project would need to be changed to 100%.

To update the project % Complete:

  1. Go to the project list view in Clarity.
  2. Add '% Complete' to the Project list view
  3. Change the % Complete to the desired amount for the sub project (Project A)

Effort or Duration % Complete Calculation Methods:

If you are using Effort or Duration % Complete Calculation Method, then the % Complete would be calculated based on the details listed at CA PPM Tuesday Tip: How do the three % Complete Calculation Methods Work.
