Issue/Introduction

Scheduling XCOM for z/OS transfers using TCP/IP instead of VTAM.

The STCAPPL / STCIP / STCPLEXQ (mutually exclusive) PARM parameters are used to direct the XCOMJOB initialization process, in addition to setting which protocol will be used for the communication with the server. The absence of one of these parameters will produce "unpredictable" results.

Environment

Release:
Component: XCMVS

Resolution

These are the PARM parameters used to schedule transfers over TCP/IP

STCIP - The STCIP parameter takes the place of the STCAPPL parameter when using TCPIP for scheduling XCOM jobs. It specifies the hostname or IP address of the server that you are queuing the transfer to.

STCPORT - The port to use for TCP/IP scheduling. It defaults to the IPPORT value specified in the default options table.

STCPLEXQ Indicates to XCOMJOB the name of the PLEXQ group that is the target of a SCHEDULE or INQUIRE.

The STCIP and STCPORT parameters are specified on the PARM statement of the EXEC JCL statement for XCOMJOB.   Use STCPLEXQ to schedule in the PLEXQ
