Issue/Introduction

Is it required to have a separate copy of SAS libraries to be used by CA MICS?

Environment

Release:
Component: MBAS

Resolution

Although it is not required to maintain a separate set of SAS system libraries exclusively for the use of CA MICS, it is a recommended best practice.
Adopting a SAS system library data set naming convention eliminates the requirement to regenerate CA MICS JCL when migrating from one SAS release to another.
In addition, maintaining a separate set of SAS system libraries guarantees a stable CA MICS environment where you can coordinate and schedule the application of compatible maintenance levels of both CA MICS and your statistical analysis software (SAS). Using this strategy will simplify the process
and reduce the time to move to a new release of SAS.
