Issue/Introduction
There are two databases defined to our system - DB 1 (Human Resource) and DB 10 (Order Entry) - that we would like to remove. Is it necessary to keep the sample and demo databases that are shipped and installed as part of the CA Datacom package?
Environment
Release: DATABB00200-14.0-Datacom/AD Component:
Resolution
The sample and demo databases (typically DB 1 - Human-Resource and 10 - Order-Entry, but they can have different DBIDs in different firms) can readily be removed as you would with any other application database.
We would recommend that you remove them from the CXX and then delete the files if that is what is needed, but leave the Datadictionary definitions in place. This way, in the event you have a problem and need to create the database to perform any diagnostics or testing for a support case, the definitions are there and it is a simple process to reload the sample data.
Additional Information
As always, please contact CA Technologies support for CA Datacom if you have further questions.
