All the groups and containers are empty in UMP USM portlet
After an abrupt restart of UMP portal, all the devices in groups in the UMP portal are empty. All groups, including inventory show 0 devices.
Cause
There was an error for the MSSQLSERVER process on the UIM database server around the time the error occurred. All entries in the CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM and CM_DEVICE tables were missing.
1. Restore the UIM database from a known good backup copy 2. Cold start (deactivate, then activate) the discovery_server probe to repopulate the missing device tables. It would also be necessary to kick off a new discovery on all snmpcollector probes in the UIM domain and cold start all vmware probes to get the remote devices repopulated.
