Issue/Introduction

Spectrum processd install fails during Spectrum installation on Windows:

Install runs but does not complete successfully. The following error is seen in the $SPECROOT/Install-Tools/LOGS/<Spectrum install version>/postinst.<time> log file:

Requesting installation of service: "SPECTRUM Process Daemon" error: Unable to authenticate user. Please verify username and password. error: service refused to be installed Requesting start of service: "SPECTRUM Process Daemon" StartService error: 0x6, this service isn't currently installed ** Error during starting processd

Spectrum install on Windows

Cause

The install owner specified during the installation may have special characters in the password preventing the processd installation. 

Resolution

You can configure processd post install and enclose the password inside quotes.
