Issue/Introduction

I uninstalled one of DCs but it is still shown in DA's Data Collector list.

Could you please let me know how to completely remove the DC from GUI?

How can we remove an old stale Data Collector from the DX NetOps Performance Management Performance Center web UI?

Remove Data Collector from DA GUI.

I uninstalled one of DCs but it is still shown in DA's Data Collector list. Could you please let me know how to completely remove the DC from GUI?

Cause

Sometimes, if a DC is removed but the info doesn't get synched to the DA, it may remain listed in the Performance Center (PC) web UI.

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases.

Resolution

Using REST we will get the DA item ID for the problem DC. Issue the following at the CLI of a server with DA access, or the DA itself. Replace <DA_Host> with the DA host name or IP address.

curl -X GET -H 'Content-Type: application/xml' http://<DA_Host>:8581/rest/dcms

If able to run a browser based REST URL against the DA the same curl output can be retrieved placing this URL in a new browser tab. Replace <DA_Host> with the DA host name or IP address.

http://<DA_Host>:8581/rest/dcms

In the list of Data Collector entries make note of the stale Data Collectors corresponding ID value. For example the ID in this is the highlighted value.

<DataCollectionMgrInfo version="1.0.0">
<ID>5251</ID>
<DcmID>DC-Host_Name:f85db068-7569-4286-970e-a8eb9c787ccc</DcmID>
<Enabled>true</Enabled>
<ItemCapacity>500000</ItemCapacity>
<IPAddress>11.174.33.148</IPAddress>
….

We will then use the following CLI based curl statement to issue a delete for that problem Data Collector ID so it's removed from the DA. Replace <ID> with the previously identified Data Collector ID value.

curl -X DELETE -H 'Content-Type: application/xml' http://DA:8581/rest/ipdomainmember/<ID>
