Issue/Introduction

I ran ETCL cleanup on our RACF system today and ran into some errors with groups saying “INVALID GROUP”. In some of the cases the groups are empty and have no members. We also checked the syntax and everything looks to be correct.

Resolution

This is working as intended. Cleanup does not acknowledge sub-groups. It would be a huge endeavor/enhancement to map out the full Groups structure to perform this type of relationship validation when RACF will do it anyway.
