TMOOPT Option ABE and EDM controlled tape

Issue/Introduction

We have in TMOOPTxx options ABE=nnn. What happens with a tape which is EDM controlled abends during processing this tape?
Will the EXPDT remain PERMANENT or will it be assigned the ABE retention?

Resolution

For an tape marked under EDM control if they abend then the ABEND bit is turned on but the EXPDT will remain PERMANENT. You will not have the ABE option applied
