Issue/Introduction

We have noticed that despite the fact we removed devices from UIM they still exist in the Spectrum. Our suspicion is that UIM does not properly send the "delete" command to Spectrum to remove the Spectrum model from the "UIM Inventory", and devices still are appearing on Spectrum Console (fault isolation - error).

Environment

Spectrum 10.2.1 / UIM

Cause

Symptom:
1. Models are not getting deleted in Spectrum when their corresponding entities are deleted from UIM
2. Customer requested that UIM content that have their state as active in NISAPI responses should be modeled in Spectrum.

Resolution

This issue is addressed in the 10.02.01.PTF_10.2.163 patch for Spectrum 10.2.1.

This issue is also addressed in Spectrum 10.3.0 and higher.

1.Spectrum UIM syncs for virtualization inventory fail when OneClick server tries to fetch vcenter hierarchy from SSDB. This is happening because an event model has an association with either an ESX host or Resource pool. While getting the vcenter hierarchy from spectrum if an event model is found as part of the hierarchy it will be deleted and not reported to OneClick server.
2. Now spectrum will pull hosts and VMs from UIM that have their status as "active". Any previously modeled UIM content in Spectrum will be deleted if the status is inactive or unmonitored.
