Loopback transfer "XCOMN0293E XCOMPRE FAILED RC=1"

Issue/Introduction

When running locally initiated loopback transfer on XCOM for Windows see this message in the xcom.log file:

XCOMN0293E Preallocation User Exit failed, RC=1



What is the cause?

Resolution

The XPRECMD parameter has been enabled in the %XCOM_HOME%\xcom.glb file to use a custom version of the Preallocation Script exit file %XCOM_HOME%\xcompre.bat (a default version is provided at install time).
The execution of that file was being prevented by security protection software, in this case VMware Carbon Black Protection.
After the execution of the xcompre.bat file was allowed the problem was resolved.
