Most components request storage from an appropriate slot pool either above or below the 16-MB line. Using slot pools prevents storage fragmentation that can occur with other storage management techniques.
Is there any reason for concern if CA TPX Slot Pools show 100% Max Use but a low or 0% Current Use?
In the example below, slots 10, 11, & 12 (below the line) show 100% in the MAX USE field.
The current use for each of them is 0%.
The 100% overflows were probably from startup. To confirm this, look for the "TPX300 SLOT POOL nn BELOW-THE-LINE HAS OVERFLOWED" message for each of the three slot pools. If they occur during the startup portion of the log then there is nothing to worry about because the pools are recovering for normal processing.
