RC/Update for DB2 for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

Sometimes when editing table data there are columns that are longer than the display width on the screen. Being able to expand these
columns to their full width in a full screen mode can enable more effective editing of the data.

On the RC/Update for Db2 for z/OS (RCU) Browse , more than 70 chars for "Char Field Max. Size" field is needed. The task requires about 600 characters.

   Initial Browse Mode  ==> C  (C - Column Mode, F - Form Mode)
   Char Field Max. Size ==> 70 (1 thru 70 , 1 thru 256 )
   Display DB2 Types    ==> N  (Y/N/U)

Resolution

When using Browse or Edit in RC/Update, data fields that are longer than 256 characters can be displayed by using the EXPLODE command.

When displaying the row in your table on the screen, issue the EXPLODE command on the command line AND then place your cursor on the field that is longer
than 256 characters before pressing enter. This will then display the RC/Edit/Browse Explode Facility screen which will display the data in increments of 50 characters.
