Issue/Introduction

Trying to add a shared section to the cluster probe, on a Windows cluster,  results in a pop up dialog that reports:
The node has no valid cluster probe address and you can't add any resources until this is resolved!

The probe logs show
nimsession - failed to connect to session <ip address of node>:port, error code 10060

Environment

Release: CNMSPP99000-8.47-Unified Infrastructure Mgmt-Server Pack-- On Prem
Component:

Resolution

Perform a "ping -a x.x.x.x"  where x.x.x.x is the IP address of the nodes in the cluster.   This will report back a hostname as part of the ping results.

Compare the hostnames with what the Failover Cluster Manager shows and check if there is a difference in node names.

Make sure the node name of the cluster node is same as the hostname of the node. This configuration has to be done in the cluster itself (not in the probe).  The hostname and cluster node name must match in order for the probe to function properly.
