Issue/Introduction

Found multiple occurrences of the following message in the Endevor  Web Services spawn task log:

Submitted SCL: RETRIEVE ELEMENT 'xxxxxxxx' VER 01 LEV 01 FROM ENV 'xxx' SYS 'xxxxx 
timestamp: ... - Retrieve Elements Action: RC = 0012; 

C1G0017E THE SELECTED ELEMENT IS CURRENTLY IN USE BY ANOTHER JOB OR USER. PLEASE TRY AGAIN 

How to fix it ?

Resolution

The C1G0017E message could occur when the element is open in QE ( by different user or the same user) and in the same time you are trying to retrieve element in Eclipse. 

The error will go away once the file is closed in the QE session (user is done with the editing in QE). 

Check ENQ to find out if the element is been used by someone else or some other action at the same time. 

This error could also related to STC pooling, some stc's might be holding it longer than they should, so turn off the STC pooling could potentially make this error go away.
