The following outlines the procedure to uninstall CA Message Queuing Server (CAM) manually.

How do I uninstall CAM (CA Message Queuing Server) manually?

Environment

Client Automation - All Versions

Resolution

Windows

  1. Stop all the services/applications using CAM.
  2. Run 'camclose
  3. Move 'camclient.cfg' out of the %cai_msq% folder (or just rename it if all CAM apps are uninstalled)
  4. Run 'cam change disabled'
  5. Run 'camclose'
  6. Browse to "%cai_msq%\bin" folder and run 'camdeins.exe'

For silent CAM uninstallation use:
camdeins.exe -s

Note: The dependencies might have to be removed using the 'sc' command if the uninstallation returns an error stating there are dependencies.

UNIX

Linux (RPM package):            rpm -e ca-cs-cam

AIX, Solaris, HPUX:       lsm -e ca-cs-cam

If ca-cs-cam was installed as a dependent then ca-cs-cam will be removed when there are no more client applications registered to use it.

In either case, if older versions of CAM were installed other than by PIF and are still installed, CAM will resist attempts to de-install it while these applications remain registered with CAM as users.
