Issue/Introduction

This article explains the resolution for a NullPointerException that occurs when importing a "Generic Feed (Standard CSV)" connector. This error typically occurs when the input file format does not match the expected configuration.

Identity Governance 14.5

Cause

The import failure is caused by an incorrect delimiter in the source file. The Generic CSV Connector expects a comma-delimited format; if the file contains other delimiters (such as tabs), the parser will fail, resulting in a NullPointerException.

Resolution

1. Verify the delimiter settings in your CSV source file.
2. Open the file in a text editor or spreadsheet application to confirm that all data fields are separated by commas.
3. If the file uses tabs or other characters, convert the file to a standard comma-separated format.
4. Save the file and attempt the import again.
5. If the issue persists, review the eurekify.log file to ensure no other character encoding issues are present.
