How do we determine what release of CA Earl we are currently executing on our system?
You can find out what release of CA Earl you are running by checking any Earl compile listing's banner (in DD SYSPRINT). The banner will have information in the following format.
CA-EARL r.r cccceerr
where: r.r is the Earl release
cccc is the Service Pack level identifier
ee indicates free Earl Service (XE) or licensed CA Earl (EO)
rr is the Earl release
Examples:
CA-EARL 6.1 SP08XE61 <-- the XE61 indicates the free Earl Service release 6.1
provided with CA Common Services
...or...
CA-EARL 6.1 SP08EO61 <-- the EO61 indicates licensed CA Earl release 6.1
