Policy Manager scaling fonts issues in Windows

Issue/Introduction

In some instance, Policy Manager installed in Microsoft Windows, can show issues where fonts are wrongly scaled (too small to read) and overlapped.

Cause

The problem lies in the way the application handles Windows high DPI scaling at runtime.

Resolution

Follow these steps to fix the font scalling issue:

• Right-click the 'CA API Gateway Policy Manager.exe' in explorer
  • For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\CA Technologies - A Broadcom Company\Layer7 API Gateway Policy Manager<version>
  • Right-click the Layer7 API Gateway Policy Manager.exe file
• Select properties
• The properties dialog opens with the General tab selected
• Select the Compatibility tab
• Click the 'Change high DPI settings' button
• Check the 'Override high DPI scaling behavior' checkbox
• Select 'System' in the dropdown select box under this checkbox
• Click OK, and then Apply buttons
• Restart the Policy Manager

In some Windows platforms, you may need to select "Use this setting to fix scaling problems for this program instead of the one in Settings" option to fix the scaling issues.
