CA API Policy Manager 9.x and 10.x scaling fonts issues in Windows 10

Issue/Introduction

In some instance, Policy Manager 9.x and 10.x installed in Microsoft Windows 10, can show issues where fonts are wrongly scaled and overlapped (see example below)

The problem lies in the way the application handles Windows high DPI scaling at runtime.

Environment

CA API Gateway
Affected component - Policy Manager 9.x/10.x

Resolution

Workaround:

• Right-click the 'CA API Gateway Policy Manager.exe' in explorer

           For example: c:\Program Files (x86)\CA Technologies\Layer7 API Gateway Policy Manager version

           Right-click the Layer7 API Gateway Policy Manager.exe file

• The properties dialog opens with the General tab selected.
• Select properties
• Select the Compatibility tab
• Click the 'Change high DPI settings' button
• Check the 'Override high DPI scaling behavior' checkbox
• Select 'System' in the dropdown select box under this checkbox

• Click OK, and then Apply buttons
• Restart the Policy Manager
