Issue/Introduction

CA XCOM is listening by default on port 8044. Does that and any other listening ports need to be reserved in the TCPIP definitions?

Environment

Release: CA XCOM Data Transport
Component: XCMVS, XCPCNT, XCLX86, XCURS6, XCUHP9

Resolution

You may reserve the PORT(S) in the TCP definitions so no other application can use it.

We selected default port numbers to use for CA XCOM that were not generally in use.
We have not made it a requirement to reserve these. However, you may choose to reserve the ports CA XCOM uses. Reserve them as a TCP port.

Additional Information

Please refer to the documentation for TCP on your platform for instructions on how to reserve ports.
