Issue/Introduction

When integrating Identity Portal (IdP) with Identity Manager (IdM), administrators may encounter connectivity errors when attempting to load the Single Sign-On (SSO) URL via the Identity Portal connector.

This article addresses configuration requirements to ensure successful integration.

Environment

Identity Portal 14.x
Identity Manager 14.x
Single Sign on (SSO)

Cause

The Identity Portal connector is configured to pass traffic through the SSO agent, which results in a "Test connection failed" error. Identity Portal must connect directly to Identity Manager.

Resolution

To resolve connectivity issues between Identity Portal and Identity Manager, ensure the following configuration is applied:

  1. Modify Connector Settings: Ensure that the Identity Portal (IP) Connector is configured to reach the Identity Manager (IM) host directly.
  2. Bypass SSO Agent: The connection should not pass through the SSO agent when communicating between the IP Connector and Identity Manager.
  3. Verify Connectivity: Test the connection within the Sigma Connector interface after confirming the direct path is configured.
