Provisioning Server: Resolving 'ECSWV_E_2539 LoadLibrary for cawvapi failed 126' in Enterprise Worldview

Issue/Introduction

The following error is reported in the Windows Event Viewer when starting the Provisioning Server or associated services:

ECSWV_E_2539, LoadLibrary for 'cawvapi' failed 126.

This occurs specifically when the Enterprise Worldview service attempts to initialize. This service is a component of Etrust Common Services and is not required for the standard operation of Identity Manager (IM) or the Provisioning Server Assistant (PSA).

Identity Manager 14.x

Cause

The error is triggered by the Enterprise Worldview service attempting to load the cawvapi library, which may be missing or incorrectly registered. Because the service itself is not utilized by the Identity Manager architecture, the error is considered benign and does not impact product functionality.

Resolution

To resolve the error and prevent it from appearing in the Event Viewer, disable the unnecessary Enterprise Worldview services:

1. Open the Windows Services management console (services.msc).
2. Locate the service named Enterprise Worldview (or any services prefixed with "Enterprise").
3. Right-click the service and select Properties.
4. Change the Startup type to Disabled.
5. Click Stop to terminate the service if it is currently running.
6. Click Apply and OK.

Additional Information

Disabling this service has no negative impact on Identity Manager, Identity Governance, or Identity Portal operations.
