Issue/Introduction

Are there any SMF type records which can be turned on in order to gather Gen 8.6 SMF data for reporting purposes?

Resolution

Gen does not create any SMF records from within the Development environment products Host Encyclopedia (HE), z/OS Implementation Toolset (IT) nor from within generated applications.
 
The Gen products do call licensing routines in Common Services, and these may write an audit record. However those records would not contain any information of interest.

By the same token, Gen generated applications will create all the standard IBM SMF records – 4s, 5s, 110s in CICS if monitoring is on, etc. These records are covered by the IBM SMF documentation.
