Issue/Introduction
Every time I try to login to CAPC I receive the following error:
NET:ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
Environment
Release: Component: CAPRFC
Resolution
The reason for this error is your browser does not trust the Issuer of the certificate provided to it. This could either be the server certificate itself if it is a self-signed certificate or the root authority certificate if it is part of a Certificate Authority group of trusted certs.
The trusting of the certs is something that needs to be altered in the environment of the system accessing CAPC and needs to be on each system accessing CAPC.
Additional Information
Most often, the easiest path is to set up CAPC using a Certificate Authority signed certificate and use Active Directory policies to force the browsers to trust the root certificate of said Certificate Authority if they do not already do so.
